Overview:

One of the 49 Miami-Dade Public Libraries, Coral Gables Library was established in 1927 and completed in 1937. After serving as the Coral Gables Library for over 30 years, the original library building was later deeded to the Woman’s Club. Due to rapid growth the library moved to a new building, the final home being dedicated on March 23, 1969. In 2010, the library was recognized as a historical landmark and continues to be a key part of the Coral Gables community and history.

In the year 2019, 3FM Consulting was retained to assist Miami-Dade County with engineering services for the historic renovation of this iconic building. Our team was responsible to carefully review all existing conditions by performing extensive field assessments and thorough review of 50+ year old microfilms. In addition, 3FM carried out routine coordination meetings with the architecture and design teams to perform highly detailed coordination of all MEP related provisions and to generate a set of plans with the higher level of detail.
