Overview:
The Miami-Dade Main Library, located in the heart of Downtown Miami’s Cultural Plaza, is the central branch of the largest public library system in Florida. Originally opened in 1985, the four-story building is a vital hub for learning, culture, and public engagement. It features expansive collections, including rare books and archives, public programs, and a notable permanent art collection. As part of the Cultural Center, the library plays a key role in serving the diverse communities of Miami-Dade County.
In 2025, 3FM Consulting provided MEP engineering services for an indoor air quality (IAQ) assessment at the Miami-Dade Main Library. Our team conducted a site visit to observe and evaluate the mechanical systems in areas identified as having potential IAQ concerns. Following the inspection, we prepared a detailed engineering report summarizing our findings, including visible HVAC issues, system conditions, and their possible connection to reported air quality complaints. The report also included practical recommendations for corrective actions to help improve overall indoor air quality within the facility.
